How to Make Bread Recipe / Classic Artisan Bread

 


  • 3 1/4 cups (400g) bread flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast

  • 1 1/4 cups (300ml) warm water

Instructions:

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast. Slowly add warm water and mix with a wooden spoon until a sticky dough forms.

  2. Let Dough Rise: Cover the bowl with a damp towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours or until the dough has doubled in size.

  3. Preheat Oven and Dutch Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven or heavy pot with a lid inside the oven for 30 minutes.

  4. Prepare Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball. Cover it with the same towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  5. Bake: Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

  6. Cool: Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
